named
Angela Dailey, Owner/Publisher of West Georgia Woman Magazine as the 2019 Start-Up Business
of the Year.
Despite many
obstacles, Angela printed her first issue of West Georgia Woman Magazine in
November 2015. With only a four-hour
tutorial on graphic design, a big dream and a heart filled with determination, Angela now publishes an incredibly successful magazine. The company has seen sales increase by a
staggering 169% in just three years.
Angela has more than doubled her employees and added two additional
publications to the lineup.
Angela believes,
“community involvement and support are paramount to owning a successful
business.” Angela is active in our
community and supports non-profit and civic organizations including Carroll
County CASA, March of Dimes. Circles of West Georgia, Carrollton Dawnbreakers
Rotary, Rotary Club of Carrollton, Carroll County Sertoma Club, Carroll County Mental
Health Advocates, and many more.
This year marks the third year for this award. The Start-Up of the Year award created to
spotlight the importance of small business to the local, regional and national
economy. There are approximately 29
million small businesses in the US according to the Small Business
Administration (SBA). Georgia ranks
number one for the best state for business with 808,285 registered small
businesses in 2019 with 97.3% employing fewer than 100 employees. The Carroll Chamber is proud to serve small
businesses, with a majority of the members employing fewer than 100 employees.
